Preference is given to National or West Midlands charities. The trustees use the following programme areas to classify their grants:-

- Conservation/Preservation
- Countryside Matters and Animal Welfare and Disease
- Care of the Elderly

- Disabled/Handicapped Treatment and Care
- Drug Prevention and Treatment
- Education
- Employment and Job Creation
- *General Medical Research - *(Note, the trustees do not normally support general medical research projects, but do occassionally consider appeals for areas where they have specific knowledge)

- Hospices
- Hospital/Nursing Home Building and Equipment
